Actually Timmy, I'm thinking the person you quoted didn't intend for his words to be used in context with your original post. It absolutely does make a difference in many ways what others say or become. If I'm in a workplace, I can be positive and encourage others. Unfortunately, if everyone else around me is negative and doesn't work to be part of a team, there's a pretty good likelihood we're not going to be very productive. If others around me are positive and encouraging, we are probably cooperating with each other and working well with each other. That lends to more productivity and should equate to more revenue for the business (and hopefully more income for the employees).
The same could be applied to this forum. Some might say that the constant pissing contests with trolls and the people that can't seem to resist the clickbait actually help traffic here. I'm thinking at some point, people get tired of reading this BS or being exposed to redundant posts of people trying to push a narrative. And eventually that will hurt traffic. It might explain why one troll in particular is starting to get corralled by mods.
